Dipl.Ing. Bettina Petzold has the following education and professional career:

School leaving exam (A-levels) in 1976

Studies: Geodesy from 1976 in Hanover, Technical University, Diploma in 1982

Probationary period for the national surveying administration in North Rhine-Westphalia; degree as a legal surveyor in 1985

1986 to 1988: Lecturer, giving lectures concerning graphic data processing and programming in nine- and twelve-months courses for surveying engineers and technicians in a private company

1988 to 1989: Head of the Division “Graphic Data Processing” in a private company, offering especially data capture of city base maps or power lines

1989 to 1991: Assistant at the Institute for Photogrammetry at the Technical University of Lausanne, Switzerland (EPFL, Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne); working especially in a project for the development of a GIS Application for engineers, and in the field of digital terrain model

1991 to 2000: Working at the Surveying and Mapping Agency of North Rhine-Westphalia in Bonn

Since 2000: head of the division “data processing and cartography“ of the office of cadastre in Wuppertal

Special experiences and tasks

Member of the Expert Group “Digital Terrain Models” within the AdV (Federal Republic of Germany State Survey Working Committee) from 1996 to 2000

Chairperson of the Working Group “Laser Data Acquisition” of the OEEPE (Organisation Européenne d’Études Photogrammétriques Expérimentales) from 1998 to 2001

Head of a working group on 3D city models of the conference of cities of North Rhine-Westphalia
